Named in honour of the property and its resilient owners who faced a devastating flood in 2013, The River House seamlessly marries natural elements with a Scandinavian aesthetic. Every design choice was guided by the client's desire for an inviting and organic atmosphere throughout their home. The main floor features large porcelain tiles and carefully selected board-formed concrete with a driftwood-like texture, a nod to the natural beauty of the home’s backyard. Floating drywall weaves throughout the space, accentuated by light oak finishings.
Throughout the design process, we embraced Scandinavian minimalism rather than adhering to a specific era, providing a clean and open canvas This canvas allowed us to introduce texture and subtlety, incorporating accents of green, terracotta, and black to enrich the interior. This project stands as a testament to resilience and a celebration of contemporary design, where the scars of nature have transformed into present-day beauty.
